The Role
The internship was very enjoyable, I gained a lot of experience from this.
Everyone made me feel very welcome.
I was given plenty of support from my supervisor, but I was also given my own independence by having the responsibility of a project to undertake.
Some days were very busy, others quite quiet, it varied from day to day.
I was given plenty of responsibility during my placement. I was given a project that I was responsible for working through.
I am sure the skills I have developed will assist me through my future studies and career prospects.
The Company
Some days were quiet and some were noisy, it varied depending on how busy the office was. Different people were in the office on different days, as quite a few travel around and are out of the office a couple of times a week
Good, we had a Introduction day which eased all the interns into the programme, then we went off to our different areas of the business, but then met up again at the end of the internship to review our progress.
I managed to do some training sessions on Microsoft Excel and also managed to have time to do my own research.
National Travel
Above 25 days holiday
There are promising prospects with them, we need to discuss nearer the time what opportunities are available.
The Culture
I managed to meet one of the placement students for lunch one time, however some of them were placed in different parts of the country.
I was fortunate to get a placement where I could live at home so cost of living wasn't too high.
Sheffield has a good night life, and where I worked isn't too far from the city centre
It was only a 6 week placement so there was little time to be able to get involved in activities outside of work.
