    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Overall, the placement with LBG was thoroughly enjoyable. Initially, engaging in a new culture and way of working was a struggle, but as I got to grips with this challenge, I began to enojoy both the atmosphere and the work more fully.

  • Everyone I met was welcoming, which made the process far easier.

  • There are excellent support networks in place for interns at LBG, although I'm not sure I made the most of them!

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Generally, there was a good balance of work throughout the placement and, when I felt I was too busy, I was able to feed this back.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I feel I was given a level of responsibility that showed LBG's commitment to invest in me, whilst not placing too much on my shoulders.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Good all round experience of the corporate workplace,HR and the finance sector.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The focus was on work, but most people were up for some fun.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Lots for me to do from the word go. Some glitches with getting my IT sorted when I arrived.

  • I was very impressed at the extent to which LBG invested in the whole intern cohort, from activity days to online seminars.

  • London prices were a shock to the system!

  • All interns were set a fundraising challenge for LBG's charity of the year.
