The Role
Found my work placement both enjoyable and thoroughly beneficial.
Felt like a part of team from day one, everyone was always willing to offer help with any project I was working on and always had time for a chat.
Had weekly one to ones with my line manager, to discuss development opportunities, and to discuss any issues I may have been experiencing. Felt that I could apporach any team member for support.
Had a number of day to day jobs to complete on top of my primary role, so I was never bored, but at the same time never felt that the work load was excessive.
Was given repsonsibilities on top of my day to day role to enable me to work with colleagues outside of my immediate team. Was given the resposibility of organising training sessions for new starters, so I had a project which I completely owned.
I will find the skills gained during this placement extremely useful when applying for and starting new jobs. I also feel that they will help me to organise my work load better and prioritise my time in my final year of university
The Company
Everyone was really friendly and approachable from day 1.
All development opportunities were outlined in my first week and any training required was completed efficiently. I had a vague plan of what I would be doing week to week, but this was flexible as our workload changed within the team throughout the placement.
Was offered a number of training and development opportunities throughout the placement.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Referral to the graduate scheme! Great to go into your final year of uni with a secured job.
The Culture
Within my deparment there were also 23 industrial placement students who started their year with Lloyds on the same day as my placement, so the social scene was great. We were involved in all team outings and socials from day 1.
Lived at home
Wide choice of nightlide
Departments had things such as weekly poker and football matches which all colleagues could get involved with.
