The Role
Everyone I worked with was extremely friendly and so helpful in terms of answering any questions and aiding my developement.
I was able to have weekly one to ones with my line managers and she was able to offer me a large amount of support during the first few weeks of the placement.
Although my manager did arrange several projects for me I do not feel that I was as busy as I could have been. I did find myself extra projects to get involved with but I still had a lot of free time. As you're not filling a vacant role with specific responsibilities it can be difficult to keep busy.
When colleagues were on holiday I was able to take on extra responsibilities.
There were several 'webinars' held for interns which will aid me in the future with activities such as CV writing and management skills. I was also able to attend other sessions for colleagues which aim to broaden knowledge of the group which were very helpful.
The Company
I was very fortunate as everyone in my office was extremely friendly and my team members have a great chemistry with one another. There were also several office wide activites that I was able to get involved in. The presence of other interns within the office also enhanced my internship and we met up daily for lunch or after work drinks.
The talent team were great and keeping us up to date and in contact with one another through various sharepoint sites. The only issue I would raise is with the contractor company Reed. Most interns had technical issues with Reed as their website is poorly contructed and their systems are antiquate.
As mentioned earlier Lloyds set up several webinars for the interns to aide our development. Other training or development was left up to the individual to sort out, which worked out fine as it allowed me to tailor make my development.

I have now been offered a place on the LBG graudate scheme which I intend to accept. Although there were times during my internship when I felt I could have been doing more overall the experience was very positive. LBG has a great internal culture and really enjoyed my time there. The graduate scheme offers many financial benefits but also seems focused on your developement and gives you the chance to explore a variety of areas within your stream.
The Culture
I was fortunate enough to have another intern on my floor who I got on well with and will continue to communicate with running up to the graduate scheme. The interns within my office all had a good relationship with one another, however, I feel that if I had been based in london there would have been more social activities as there is a larger group of interns.
I opted to be based in my home town so enjoyed the leisure of living at home and the money saving opportunities that come with that!
Nightlife is great especially around the area in which the office was located, however I was normally too shattered from the early mornings to enjoy it!
There weren't that many, however all of the interns were challenged to raise money for LBG's charity of the year 'Save the Children'. This was to be done outside of our working hours and was a great way to get to know the other interns whilst enjoying some friendly competition.
