The Role
I enjoyed my placement as I was challenged on a daily basis. Even though at times it was extremely stressful, I can now see it has improved my commercial skills and I am far more confident working under pressure now.
The team were very welcoming and even the senior managers and Directors are approachable, which is great considering it is an international business.
My manager changed twice during my placement which was a bit unsettling, but both managers were supportive. During my first few months it was difficult to get the level of support I felt I needed as my manager also had a job to do, but other members of the team were there to help as well.
I was extremely busy on a daily basis at times, which initially was very stressful but I improved my time management skills and the ability to prioritise. I also became more confident seeking advise when necessary.
I was responsible for managing two key accounts for my placement, which included both client and candidate contact on a daily basis.
I received great transferrable training on dealing with candidates which I could apply to other similar roles beyond my degree. I have gained confidence and the ability to liaise with senior members of staff in a professsional manner.
The Company
Good atmosphere, good level of inter-office competitveness and a good team spirit.
Structured training programmes and regular team and 1:1 meetings.
I received exactly the same training as a permanent Recruitment Consultant.
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
I have been offered the chance to return to the company after graduating next year.
The Culture
Good social scene throughout the office, which incuding the other placement students. Monthly wrap up meetings with drinks at a local bar, as well as other social events organised throughout the year.
Bristol is fairly expensive for taxis and other public transport and drinks aren't cheap, but often local bars have deals on that you can take advantage of if you are aware of them.
Bristol is a vibrant city that accomodates for most music tastes, with various different areas to go out in.
Again, social events organised outside of work were common.
