The Role
I was given a role different from anything I had experienced before, with a good workload that was interesting and involved learning new skills and Using different methods of work. Everyone was very welcoming and supportive and encouraged me to ask any questions. This made me feel very at ease and confident to speak to people and jump in.
I was given projects to work on with different people, and always had an important role in all of he teams I worked in, making me feel very valued by my colleagues.
The support and guidance I received from all of my colleagues was very good. I was not afraid to ask questions and they were always more than happy to answer them and give me any help that I needed. They also helped me to identify and work on my development points which was very beneficial for me.
My workload varied from week to week, mostly due to people being on holiday as y placement was over the summer. I always had work to do, but some weeks I would have more than others. However it was never too little for me to be bored, or too much for me to be workin extra hours.
I was given quite a lot of responsibility I feel, because I was given projects to take charge of and in other projects, though I did not have the leading role, I had there's depending on my advice and expertise, and for me to get the job done before the deadline.
I think the skills I have developed will be very beneficial to me in the future, particularly in the workplace, although some, such as time management, will also be useful in my studies. I think my communication skills and influence grew te most, as well as my general business acumen.
The Company
My office was very big and everyone was very friendly and happy to have a chat. It was not an uptight and stressed atmosphere, makin it a great place to work. However, there were days that a lot of people would work from home, leaving the office very empty.
I think the internship itself was well organised. I had enough time between finding out my location and start date to arrange my accommodation. However, the recruitment company used to arrange things beforehand was a bit all over the place and I had to send off my documents several times to several different people as they kept requesting things I had already sent off. Luckily I kept copies so this wasn't too much of a problem for me, but it was quite inconvenient to keep being asked to do something that I ha already done.
I would say that they highly invested in my development, especially since I have been offered a place on the grad scheme as a result of my performance in the internship. I feel that the main focus of this internship was my personal development, more than being an extra pair of hands temporarily.

The organisation really gives the impression that they have your best interest at heart and that your development is important to them. By performing well during the internship, I have been offered a place on the graduate scheme, which is a great feeling going into my final year of university.
The Culture
There were 2 event for all of the interns, which were very informative and offered a great opportunity to meet others in the same position as you. Colleagues were also happy to go or a social drink after work and there were a few big events outside of work that people were eager to get involved in.
I lived in my student house and commuted everyday, but having a young persons railcard, this was not too expensive. Having the subsidised canteen meant that food did not cost much, and there were always bars offering discounted drinks or happy hours.
Nightlife was good in the area, but being outside of term time, it was a bit more expensive, and having work meant that going out did not happen very often.
I played in a charity football tournament, went on a pub rally, and there were a lot more opportunities as the organisation is a strong supporter of charities.
