The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement. The work was varied and interesting and my colleagues very friendly and helpful.
I really enjoyed working with my colleagues. I felt like one of the team rather than a placement student.Everyone was very friendly from the start.
At no point did I feel out of my depth in the work given to me. The support and help was excellent and I was pushed in the complexity and volume of work at a pace which assisted my learning greatly.
During the busy periods (companies year ends) I was very busy. During the quiet periods it was quite quiet, so it really depends on which part of the year your in!!
I felt i was given as much responsibility as I could be given, considering my experience.
I believe they will help me greatly, although I cannot prove this as I have not undertaken any studies since.
The Company
The atmosphere was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful, but at the same time encouraged efficient working.
My office had not had a placement student for a while so I think they ere unsure of what kind of candidate they would get. To my mind I was treated as any graduate is, which was exactly what I wanted from my placement.
I undertook 3 residential courses and significant on the job training during my time. I did nto undertake any professional examinations. I believe my training was good and enabled me to effectively complete my work.
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Healthcare from home
I received a job offer 2 months prior to my completion.
The Culture
There were no other placement students as I was in a very small office. I would say staff organised events for about once a month from our office which was good.
Farnham / Surrey is very expensive. but if you grew up here or in london then you get used to it. Farnham is also a small town so for a nightclubs/ cinema's etc you have to go to a nearby town.
Only a few pubs, no clubs and not that late opening hours. Guildford is 15 minutes away which has all that. Basingstoke is 20 minutes away also.
I grew up in the town next to farnham, so didn't look for any of these activities, so I wouldn't know.
