    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • I had such a friendly team and everyone were so helpful. The campus recruitment team had organised several activities after working hours to get to know others interns and have a good time. It was a really good way of spending my summer! After this summer I believe I've made some really great friends.

    • Here I definitely feel I've made some fantastic friends. It feels as if these people are not only colleagues, their friends.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?

    • At BlackRock I was given a buddy, a mentor and I obviously had my manager. My mentor and buddy were always there for me. If I needed to talk about something or ask something they'd see me as soon as they were free.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?

    • Some days I felt I had too little to do, but I know this was due to other things. However, we had a team challenge during our internship which made it easy to fill out the time.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

    • I believe I was given the appropriate amount of responsibility according to my experience. It felt as if what I did added value to the team and I was responsible for things that I was comfortable working on.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • If anything, I've learnt a lot about myself during this internship. However, my most valuable lesson has been to see how a lot of the different things I learnt at university come together. I believe I will be able to use a lot of the skills I learnt during my internship for my final year project at university.
