The Role
Worthwhile experience, gaining a greater understanding of finance processes.
Often asked for assistance by colleagues, but I doubt many of them knew what my actual responsibilities were. Rarely thanked or praised for contributions that were extra to my main role.
Supervisors were always willing to help, where they could. Many of my tasks were exclusive to my role, so they were not able to.
Through some role developments, tasks that could take hours took minutes and left me with little to do, especially at the quieter times of month.
Reporting to directors and managers, left mainly to do the work on my own.
Little training involved, more making you able to do the job rather than developing your skills for future career.
The Company
Able to have a chat and a laugh, but very work-orientated.
Events sometimes ran at inconvenient times for Finance IPs.
No real training schemes.
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Grad scheme is of interest, mainly because of better training opportunities.
The Culture
Everyone is in the same boat, a good student atmostphere.
Not cheap, some places can be quite expensive.
Near a university, so good places to go out.
Few clubs running.
