The Role
A bit of a shock to the student system but no more so than any other job. Really enjoyed the team atmosphere, the responsibility given and the experience of working in a professional environment.
Valued, treated as one of the team, given work on a similar basis,
Lots of support, everyone was very helpful and always happy to answer any questions.
The nature of project management meant that sometimes there was a bit of a lull and others it was extremely busy.
Similar responsibility to others within the team, designed and produced MI reports
Very valuable experience, skills in data analysis, presentations and MI reports developed. Even just tne insight into working in a corporate environment and the scale and complexity of the bank was useful
The Company
Everyone always up for a chat when there is a lull in the work.
Well organised from the perspective of LBG, the recruitment process through a third party wasn't quite so well organised.
Had some webinars throughout the internship on Business Communication, Personal Development and CV writing. Interesting but not revolutionary insights.
I was offered a place on the graduate scheme for next September
The Culture
Being in London provided lots of opportunities to meet up for drinks, not sure if there was the case for interns based outside of London as they were quite isolated.
Standard London Prices, outrageously expensive, stayed with friends and family which helped with rent but going out was significantly more expensive than university!
Lots of things happening in London
Not a massive amount, there were no obvious sports teams to get involved in.
