The Role
On many grounds, it was better than I expected. The atmosphere was much more friendly than I had anticipated and the work was interesting.
I was fortunate to be placed in a great team with fantastic people, but others were not so lucky.
Most of the time, I received adequate support. Sometimes, there was no support at all and you got thrown in the deep end. That can be challenging, of course, but definitely better than the times I worked with an overbearing supervisor who wouldn't even let you pick up your pen before she wanted to know how far you had got- and then belittle you for having not started the work she gave you seven seconds ago.
I was always busy- day, night and weekend. I must say this was, for me, so much better than sitting at a desk and having nothing to do.
It depended on who you were working with. On certain tasks, I did get a lot of independence.
This placement practically opened doors for me in my chosen career. Great experience.
The Company
The team was amazing- most of the time.
HR did a very good job organising it all.
Quit a lot, actually. In retrospect, I didn't take advantage of many opportunities.
Definitely not my dream career. Great organisation and great people, but not for me.
The Culture
For those who had any free time, there was definitely a good social scene.
It is London. It is expensive.
There's always something to do in London
A few opportunities which I quite enjoyed.
