The Role
I really enjoyed it as I got the opportunity to work on a real life project and get to know more about the company.
The people in my project team were very friendly and we worked really well as a team. Even the other employees were really friendly and always ready to offer help.
We were given a well defined project brief at the start and our manager continuously checked on our progress throughout the 8 weeks
It wasn't too busy everyday but sometimes when we had a presentation or report deadline it got busier
We were free to add things to our project brief and take the project to the level we want. We could also arrange meetings with anyone in the office to discuss our project with
I learnt team work , presentation, time management, and communication skills. I will use these in my group project at university and always in my career
The Company
It was really fun as you work with other interns so we always chatted and was very fun atmosphere. National grid employees in general were very friendly and joined in our discussions
Very well organised. We had an induction day in April to discuss what projects we'll be doing. Then the hr is always there to answer and queries. They work really hard to make your experience smooth and worthwhile. Some people did face some problems with the IT department in sorting out their computer and certain required software.
They paid for any site visits we had to go to for our project. They also arranged visits themselves. They were always ready to arrange talks if needed for interns. I will give a 100 percent for this to national grid
