The Role
It was a very good summer placement and an amazing learning experience for a 4th year student.
Everyone treated me with respect. I was considered an employee just like everyone else with responsabilities and work to do. They were all very friendly and helpful.
My mentor was always there when I needed to ask him a question. He always helped me when I got stuck.
I never got bored and I was never too busy. The workload was the right amount.
I think I was given as much responsability as a summer intern would get. Not too much but enough to make you feel like you are a normal employee and a part of the team.
I think that the skills that I developed during this placement will be very helpful in my future years at the university and beyond.
The Company
People in my office were very pasionate about their work. The atmosphere was very relaxed. There was a right balance between hard work and fun breaks.
I had absolutely no problems with the way my placement was organised. Everything went smoothly.
We had a couple of talks and they funded a one week workshop for me.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
I would very much like to come back and I really hope I will.
The Culture
ARM knows how to make students socialise. I personally made lots of friends during this placement.
The prices were higher than the ones I am used to.
I personally don't enjoy clubbing but there is definitely a Nightlife in Cambridge.
Yes, there are a lot of activities one could get involved into. The company also organises a lot of sport and social events outside of work.
