The Role
Really great atmosphere within the company, and a good bunch of people to work with.
I was still needing to ask lots of questions towards the end, but that reflects more on the learning curve in a technical position like this, rather than the company itself.
Really great support, happy to answer endless silly questions with patience and understanding.
Found it slightly difficult to get a good balance between work and taking time out in the office.
I was a member of a team working on a commercial project, so I was responsible for my code in that sense, but I didn't (and wouldn't expect to) have any responsibility within the company.
Taught me a huge amount about real software development, which built nicely on my academic grounding from my CompSci degree.
The Company
Professional but relaxed, people were always happy to have a laugh but didn't let themselves get too distracted.
We launched straight into training, and quickly started work on a real project. They kept us always supplied with interesting and relevant work.
They would do everything they could to improve your personal development, it was just up to you to take advantage of everything on offer.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
Healthcare from home
Very appealing in terms of colleagues and atmosphere, but I'd like to apply to other, larger, development houses as well.
The Culture
There was a good general office social scene, nothing very intern-specific.
London, so fairly expensive, but the company paid for lots of pub trips so that helped.
No idea.
Yes, lots of different things happened after work and on the weekends, like football and tennis and bridge/poker some evenings.
