The Role
PLEASE NOTE: This review was for a placement at Watson Wyatt prior to Towers Perrin merging with Watson Wyatt to become Towers Watson. (The RateMyPlacement Team) Thoroughly enjoyed the experience, learnt a lot too.
Work delegated to me was not menial, received thanks from all team members as i helped them reach deadlines and share the workload.
Good buddy scheme for support along with friendly line managers. HR staff and secretarial staff were very useful too.
Work load varied for me as it does for everyone in the office. However with a side line project to work on i was never bored. On the other hand when work piled up everyone is willing to help out and support.
Treated as you would be as a new graduate/recruitee. Was given freedom to work as i pleased and take on more work when capable, certainly didn't feel held back in anyway. It was just right.
A plethora of learning points that will help me throughout life aswell as plenty of good experiences and a few techniques to help finish my degree.
The Company
Was invited to all the extra activities (sports, meals & drinks etc) and a friendly working atmosphere in the office (with plenty of free cake).
Well organised and very well structured to ensure i got the most out of it with review meetings for feedback and comments. Very impressed.
It's a skill set best learnt on the job. The team trained me for what i needed to do as i went and this was great. No real investment direct from the company, but then i wouldn't expect there to be, there was no need. It was just right.

Company Parties/Events
Would be pleased to work here, a very supportive environment.
The Culture
All fellow interns got invloved in a few nights out and interacted well in and out of teh work environment.
Plenty of opportunity to socialise and get involved but living and travel costs are high in London (for only an intern wage). Worth it though.
You really can do anything in London, so full marks for available choice here.
Lots of sports clubs, evening events (like wine tasting) and after work pub visits.
