The Role
Great 6 weeks only problem was that it was too short! Lots to do, lots of great events and support the whole way along.
My team were fantastic and every one I met seemed genuinely interested to speak with me. I felt extremely valued and felt like a member of the team by the time I left.
My line manager, Campus Recruitment and other members of my team provided excellent guidance and support. I was encouraged to consistently ask questions and I always gained useful feedback and help. No one was ever annoyed if I needed help, it was always given willingly.
It altered day to day but generally I was busy as I was meeting with so many people including many senior members of the firm. My projects were interesting but due to the 6 weeks timescale it was obviously not possible to be given long term projects.
Much more responsibility than you would expect during 6 weeks. I was definitely given the chance to prove myself and take ownership of my projects and tasks. A good balance between having my own responsibility but also having guidance and help.
The feedback during my appraisals was extremely helpful and pointed out skills that I'd never considered working on so this will be hugely helpful in later life.
The Company
A really good balance of fun and character but also extremely professional. A really enjoyable place to work!
Very well organised and smoothly run by a very strong Campus Recruitment team.
Training wasn't as long as usual due a restricted timescale because of the olympics but the 3 day training was extensive and very detailed. On the job training happened every day too.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Healthcare/Dental
I was offered a job which I have accepted and am extremely pleased with.
The Culture
A really good social scene was encouraged by the employers! We were encouraged to meet and socialise with other placement students. I went for lunch with members of my team too which was nice.
Canary Wharf is quite expensive but not a complete rip off.
Much better than I thought! Canary Wharf is definitely a buzzing place to work with lots going on, especially when the sun was shining.
Lots of opportunities and even more on the graduate scheme from networking events, internship social events to charity/volunteering days.
