The Role
The internship was an enjoyable experience, well structured with good support and social activities.
Some of the work that I did would have been done by someone else normally so I made a positive difference to my colleagues workloads which they appreciated.
I had a great manager and graduate buddy who were there whenever I needed help.
Overall I would say that I wasn't that busy, I could have been doing more but this freedom meant I could concentrate on doing things well.
I was given a reasonably good level of responsibility, I don't think that there would have been much scope to give me more responsibility without running into problems of authorisation and qualifications needed for such work.
The internship didn't give me anything that I feel would be relevant to my degree. It did however provide with me a good introduction to the corporate environment that will be useful in the future.
The Company
I was working with a very nice group of people and the atmosphere was never overly stressed. There were opportunities to socialise with them outside of work as well.
The organisation of the internship was superb. It ran smoothly and punctually throughout the assessment and interview stages and also during the internship itself.
Online training was available before the internship and there was a small amount of training at the start of the internship.
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Healthcare from home
The organisation uses the internship programme to fill its graduate schemes and has a clear ethic of meritocracy which provides the opportunity of a good career.
The Culture
There were events organised by the company which were good and there were also numerous nights out organised by the interns themselves.
The Canary Wharf area was not as expensive as I thought it would be but it certainly wasn't cheap.
For a business district it was better than expected, plenty of bars. There were nightclubs nearby as well.
There were networking groups organised by the company and my team were also involved in lots of sports leagues which I could get involved with if I wanted to.
