The Role
I really enjoyed it. I felt I did work that mattered and representative of being on the desk, despite obviously not being able to trade or speak to clients for regulatory reasons.
My mentors and seniors all gave me interesting work that directly helped them.
A lot of the role is independent so they wanted to see how much I could do on my own, but if I was ever lost I never felt like I couldn't ask.
Pretty busy. Lots of work, but to be expected.
As mentioned, my work was helpful to the desk in general and the desk's clients so I do feel that was a big responsibility.
Everything from excel, to presentation and numerical skills increased. Really great experience and learning curve.
The Company
Really interesting and always quite intellectual. I like the calibre of the people there and how they all fit in the organisation.
Fine. Unfortunately it was a shorter internship due to the olympics, but HR did what they could. Fun events as well as helpful.
We had good training given how short it had to be and how little time we had. I also felt like really senior people had time for me (obviously I had to pick my moments).

Will be joining them in the future and can't wait.
The Culture
Absolutely. Bunch of fun interns. Again due to shorter internship there was less tie to socialise, but good bunch from around the world nonetheless.
I mean, it's London and Canary Wharf. It wasn't ever going to be dirt cheap, but we got paid well enough to be able to afford it.
It's London. Enough said.
The bank had a bunch of after work activities from sailing to football as well as volunteering.
