The Role
Although the work was challenging at times it was great to be stretched and be given some of the same jobs as full time members of staff.
Everyone was very welcoming and willing to help where ever possible
Having a line manager who was just working with me (as an intern) was a great help as you got get individual attention
Sometimes there was not too much to do when you finish a task, but people were always able to suggest an activity, such as something useful to read to increase your knowledge of the area you are working.
I was given jobs which involved working with clients.
Although not directly related to my degree, I learnt a lot of skills which will help me in the future. Such as how to give a business presentation and how to deal with clients and time management
The Company
Some staff activities such as after work drinks and softball
Everything was organised well and any problems were quickly ironed out
There was a full training weekend as well as on the job learning.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
I received a job offer from them
The Culture
Many Barclays organised as well as self organised events
Wine was cheaper than expected! £5 for a large glass in some places!
Plenty of clubs but can be very expensive
Intern activities as well as normal staff activities such as spots
