The Role
I enjoyed my placement immensely. It was an eye opener in how much opportunity there was at SAS and the amount they invest in their people and company reputation. I feel the experience I gained here could not have been found anywhere else. Not only that but the network I built is truly tremendous and will benefit me in the future. Being an intern I was treated the same way as permanent employees and even gained a certification being there which will help me when I finish university.I enjoyed my placement immensely. Everyone at SAS has an approachable demeanor. They value each of their staff and treat everyone the same. At first you seem like a celebrity, so many people want to find out what you do and what you want to do in the future. This is beneficial because you eventually find someone in the same field which would aid your career opportunity.
When I was placed in my department I was given support and guidance whenever I need. The theory of playing with something to find results on my own also came into play. The position of independent was there but when you needed help people were not far off.
The project actually lasted me the whole internship. Using the range of skills taught to me on the first couple of weeks and putting them into practise. I main worked with raw data and as some may know the possibility of data is endless
I was given total responsibility. This allowed me to put my own touch on aspects and provide a view that some employees may not have thought off.
The skills obtained here are absolutely priceless. Being given a certification in SAS base programming training which would enhance my employability is something really beneficial, especially in this current economic climate
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was pretty awesome. Everyone had similar characteristics to me meaning that we all got on well.
It was very organised. Everything was well planned and well structured.
The company invested heavily into us. Training that cost £1,000 and over were given to us free of charge. They have even help us by making us sit a certification to make more qualified.

Very appealing. I just need to keep in contact with them.
The Culture
There were a range of pubs.
We managed to find accommodation in the surrounding town which was a 15 minutes car journey into work.
The local night life was not get but around the placement was all right.
Yes, The company has massive acre of land surrounding it with a cricket field and two five a-side football pitches.
