    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • 4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • 5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • It is always hard to blend in at first but I would say the process was quite smooth at ARM

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Not always. The problem when not working with a very specific problem is that even you don't know exactly what you are supposed to do and hence time is wasted and sometimes my line manager was a little busy and so there were a few days when I didn't have much of a load.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I am quite happy that I was given enough autonomy to pursue the work my way which enabled me to proceed the way I wanted and hence the progress was pretty good.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I acquired some new skills in embedded systems but doubt that they will be useful for future.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere at ARM is really great. It is pretty laid back and people come and go casually and come to office in casual clothes. This is really great for real work where you don't have to waste time thinking about what to wear and stuff everyday and focus on the real thing = WORK

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The set up was great but my goal was not set up properly, but it is partially my fault.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I didn't receive any training.

    1/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Given the working environment here, I would be more than happy to work here!

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • We have a summer student social group which was VERY active during the first 4 weeks and now there is hardly any activity.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It was a bit costly, I had to pay rent 680/month

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • No nightlife unless you go to city center even then it wasn't great.

    2/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Besides the ARM cycle to London and Byte night, no not really.

    2/5
