The Role
This was a good placements and the more experience you got, the more complex work was given.
Once I was in the placement, I started to be known by all colleagues in the office and other offices and they treated you like you were a proper member of staff.
There was always people around you to give you help and support no matter what it was.
Its busy everyday, with new queries coming in from members of schemes, as well as projects that the management was giving out.
Once I was in the placement for about 6 months, I was put in charge of a number of pension schemes and it was all my responsibility to ensure everything was going fine. I was also put in charge of another placement student who had been moved to our team.
This put me in a routine for when I started back to Uni, as well an helped me with my English and Maths.
The Company
The atmosphere was good, people were friendly and always up for a laugh.
Once I arrived and induction was completed, I was stuck into doing work.
I believe that my mentor and manager was trying to give me as much training as possible. However as the company in as a whole, I do not believe they did not want to invest much as I would only be there for a year.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
As the administration department was closed down, they will not be taking on students. But in other offices and departments there is prospects.
The Culture
There was a social scene between the students, but not enough between colleagues.
Belfast is starting to become a more up coming city, therefore its starting to raise in prices.
Night life is becoming better. There are a few bars near by, but if you head into the city it becomes much better.
there was a few opportunities to get involved but not as much.
