The Role
Enjoyed it - lots of work to do, nice people, good length of time.
Colleagues made me feel very welcome as part of the team very quickly. They asked me to help them with work and engaged socially with me too.
Manager always on hand if you had any problems. They regularly checked in on how you were doing too. Also regular meetings throughout internship to check for any issues.
Most days really quite busy. A bit quiet at the start until people got used to me and started giving me more work. At times a lot of work - time management required. But good to be kept busy.
Quite a lot of responsibility - some tasks were basic admin stuff but others were important, such as writing important letters or representing the firm at a client visit.
Gave me a good insight into the practical application of accounting concepts learned at university.
The Company
Sociable, events organised, nice level of chat among staff. Friendly.
Well organised except at the very beginning when there wasnt much work for us all to do when we got there.
Some staff took it upon themselves to teach me about certain areas of work.
Was offered graduate job on completion of internship
The Culture
Very good - interns in local offices organised regular social events on fridays. Also had lunches together.
Moderately expensive but cheap student places available too. Travel could be quite expensive.
Great bars, restaurants, clubs. Very lively.
Some after-work social activities organised but not many.
