The Role
It was definitely enjoyable, and I am glad that I have found a career that I enjoy and could take further!
There were frequently socials within the office and department, and we were all encouraged to get involved. I definitely am glad I did as it made the experience much more fulfilling.
There was almost the right balance between not going into too much detail and not being told enough. Though there was a clear difference in the level of support between some of the incharges. But if I had a query, everyone was always willing to help.
Given the nature of the work, there were some jobs where there were many tasks that I could help out with, but others I found that after I while I would just be waiting for information from loads of different people with nothing to be doing in the meantime
I was given as much as I feel could be expected, as obviously there was a lot that it wouldn't be reasonable for me to understand.
I definitely feel that I have a greater understanding of how businesses work, which relates well to my degree. I have also found a career that I enjoy, which is great!
The Company
The office is very work focussed but still felt relaxed.
Often found myself not sure who to ask for advice or knowing what was expected of me. I was provided with a buddy who during the placement was often studying for exams and so could have been slow at replying at times. Was meant to shadow a partner, but every opportunity kept getting postponed, but another intern did it three times so there definitely was the opportunity.
Given all the help I needed, when required
Subsidised Canteen
National Travel
Currently avaiting to hear back from partner interview.
The Culture
Other interns were friendly and often arranged socials along with the rest of the office.
Reasonable, live here for University s knew what to expect
Nottingham is great for students, so there was plenty of choice for nights out
Weekly socials and events were run by staff members.
