The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my work placement at VWG. I met some great people and the experience I took away from it at the end of the year was invaluable.
I got on really well with the team - they became my friends as well as colleagues.
I had frequent meetings with my line manager to ensure that I was on target and happy with the way in which things were working. I had objectives set and meetings throughout the year with HR.
My job role increased half way through the year as unfortunately somebody left the department. However for me, this meant that I was busier, but also gained insight into other roles which I might not have done if the postiion was filled. Before this happened I was busy and it gave me chance to think more creatively.
I feel I was given a lot of responsibility. I was able to work alongside every member in my department and I had to manage certain aspects i.e. the website and media evaluation. As I proved my value, responsibilities kept increasing.
Without my placement year I truely believe I wouldn't be where I am today. It gave me great ground knowledge into PR in the motoring industry and it enabled me to complete my final year with more ease. Thank you!
The Company
The people in the team made my job exciting and bought lots of laughter to the office.
Extremely well organised, I had frequent HR meetings throughout the year and before I started I attended an introduction day to get to know the business/other students.
I was sent on PR workshops in London to increase my knowledge and become recognised by the Chartered Institute of the industry. It was great how much training they put me forward for and it was noted by my university lectures once I was back at uni.

I work for Audi in the Press and PR team!
The Culture
There was a great social scene amongst students. Due to house-shares there were always parties, events going on and most people met up on lunch breaks too.
Cheap as chips for me as I was able to move back home with my parents!
The nightlife in Milton Keynes is not as buzzing as most cities. However with a good crowd and a few trusty bars, Milton Keynes is great fun.
Lots of activities go on - I personally joined the netball team.
