The Role
My particular role was very enjoyable due to my role and team (though pot luck whether or not you get a 'fun' team)
As you progress you are relied upon more and more
We had regular one to ones where we discussed both my performance and the tasks ahead. Also, we had two formal and detailed appraisals of performance
This depends on what position you get, my role was busiest at month end and during planning sessions
Got responsibility straight away. When given project work you can really take control if you put the effort in
In terms of my degree, the accounting side of things will definitely help with my minor subjects. As for life skills, the training and soft skills learnt were extremely valuable
The Company
My experience was great as I had a fantastic team, however I know some people were in a team who perhaps had less fun and did less social things together.
Very structured in terms of training and development due to the 3 compulsory training courses and 2 formal appraisals. Only thing is the IT side of things as it can take a few days to get going
Good training courses (3) and detailed reviews
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Their graduate job often employees from the internship pool
The Culture
Up to individuals to organise and get involved, but the opportunity is there because of so many being hired
More expensive than Uni lifestyle, you would have to make an effort to save some money
A few OK clubs in Watford but 20 mins from London
Opportunities for football, external speaker events etc
