The Role
Great job with a varied range of tasks
I was given a real project and something that genuinely needed doing. I also helped other colleagues with their projects as required
My supervisor was always willing to provide guidance and help whenever I needed it. He also checked when I was quiet to ensure everything was ok
It varied, some days were very busy others slower but on the whole it was a perfect balance. This balance was easily achieved with the flexi-time system they have
I was given a real project to address a real problem so lots!
Time management, organisation, corporate maturity....
The Company
An open plan office so very social but they were an overworked team at times so everyone worked hard
Initial funding problems which should have been sorted by the time I arrived but this just gave me an extra opportunity to see what real projects are like.
Outside of work there was networking events, social events and graduate presentations
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Above 25 days holiday
Healthcare from home
Was offered a job and a graduate scheme interview at the end of my internship
The Culture
All Derby interns lived in University of Derby halls together which were very sociable
Derby is a very cheap night out!
Bit quiet due to summer and therefore lack of local students but with 60 interns in halls together it was very sociable
Many opportunities provided by Rolls-Royce and also with other interns generally
