The Role
Although the academy was challenging at times, it was always well planned enough to be interesting and there were plenty of non assessed exercises and opportunities to have a bit of fun and get to know each other. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The PwC staff were all extremely welcoming and made us all feel that we had done very well to get to the Academy.
Lots of support was given at every step, including a 'practise run' for one of the assessed exercises. A lot of emphasis was put on personal development.
The 3 days were jam packed- late evenings and early mornings, but I felt that it was all worthwhile and so didn't feel that they were packing too much in.
Not a great deal of responsibility as we were dealing with a fictional client of PwC... bit we were given plenty of scope to think independently during all the exercises.
I have secured an internship with PwC so I would say that it has assisted me greatly!
The Company
We were based in a very nice hotel, and the atmosphere was very good.
Extremely well organised, we were never left hanging around waiting for something. Everything seemed to run smoothly.
A lot of time and resources was spent on personal development- improving our communication skills etc
Subsidised Canteen
I secured an internship for next summer with PwC.
The Culture
In there evenings we were given drinks tokens and there was an opportunity to network and get to know everyone
Almost everything was paid for.
No nightlife as we were in a hotel, but there was a bar and a dinner was held on two of the nights.
not really as it was residential .
