The Role
The Leadership Academy was a really enjoyable and worthwhile experience. Lots of variety which kept it interesting.
There was a very friendly atmosphere and we each had a group for the 3 day period, so you got to know your team well.
The EY leaders and faacilitators were very willing to share their experiences and put you in contact with someone who could answer your questions. There was a presentation on the last day about how to approach assessment centres which was very useful.
The programme was full and varied which made you feel productive.
The Academy focuses on building leadership skills so does not offer the same level of responsability as doing a real job in an office. However most people had a chance to lead their team in group exercises which was an opportunity for responsability.
The programme focused very much on personal improvement and developing your own leadership style. It was tailored specifically to the participants. I feel I learn a lot about how I work with others which is a key skill for university and beyond.
The Company
The atmosphere was very energetic because we had fun warm-up activities at the start of each day and worked mostly in groups.
The programme was very well planned and put together.
The entire focus of the programme was personal development and the course leaders really emphasised that the Academy was more about us than about EY in particular.

Company Parties/Events
Everyone on the Academy was fasttracked through to the Assessment Centre. I have since got a Summer Internship Placement with EY.
The Culture
The evenings were very sociable. Across the 3 nights we had a BBQ, a dinner with EY partners, and activities like african drumming and karaoke.
EY paid for everything.
During the 3 days we didn't have the chance to go off site so didn't get to see any nightlife. However evening activities were arranged every night and there was always an open bar!
The evening activities were a fun and sociable break from the work during the day.
