  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • Had an amazing time and really liked everyone I was working with.

    • National Grid are very well set up for placements and you are instantly involved and feel part of the team.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?

    • I was set an initial brief detailing placement objectives, however this was flexible and I had a lot of input. There are lots of opportunities but what you get you of it is up to you.

    • I was kept very busy by a huge variety of work, site visits and talks by technical experts. There was always lots to do but I never felt overwhelmed.

    • I was given a large amount of responsibility in managing my own project and had to make sure everything was ready for a final presentation.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • As well as learning lots about engineering, I learnt a lot about managing a project and working with others in a team.
