The Role
Very relevant to my interests. Given a huge amount of things to learn and do.
Got on very well with the other employees, being invited to social events both during my placement, and in the future.
Given support when asked, but also given the opportunity to fill the role by myself (felt trusted to work alone when required/I wanted
A little slow to begin with, and at times stuck for things to do, but once I got into it, things settled and there was plenty to do
In my project I was given complete responsibility, whilst at the same time, I was not on my own when I needed help
Social skills, lots of technical learning, and more experience of industry... the skills I developed will be very useful to me in the future
The Company
The department was currently going through a transition period, so this year it felt a little unsettled, but I'm sure that it will be better soon.
My project was well organised so as to be long enough to fill a summer placement, without meaning I had to work endlessly on it (allowing me to gain other experiences along side). The organisation of the placement scheme was smooth and professional. Overall it was very well organised.
The company invested a lot in me, giving me free reign to choose the experiences I wanted to develop, and not restraining me just because I'm a student.

Company Parties/Events
I have already been offered a place on the graduate scheme for when I finish my university course.
The Culture
Other than a few self organised events, there was very little to bring the placement students together. it would have been nice for an official event to be organised every now and then so that people could discuss what their placement experiences were.
I did not live in the immediate local area, but commuted in each day. The cost of food and drink in the local area seemed reasonable.
There seems to be a lot going on (though I choose not to experience much of it)
There is nearly always something going on to get involved with, and the atmosphere generated is one of a community, not just work.
