The Role
I loved my job, I had some great experiences and made some great friends.
My colleagues were a key part of the job enjoyment, I felt a real part of the team and was sad to leave.
I was given a lot of guidance, but almost more importantly I was given plenty of autonomy and freedom to manage my own projects and campaigns.
I was always busy during my placement but this was completely my choice. The job is what you choose to make it and as I was so passionate about the brand and the work I was doing I chose to get involved in every project I could.
I was given the opportunity to manage a number of campaigns and projects on my own and had real autonomy to make critical decisions.
When I returned to university I had a number of modules that were entirely relevant to my placement and managed to use the knowledge I had learnt to achieve high results in these modules.
The Company
The whole building was a friendly place. There were plenty of people always up for a chat, the only downside was a lack of social activity with most of my colleagues living family lifestyles.
The HR team did a great job to organise events before and during my placement to make sure I was comfortable at all times and were easily contactable if ever I had any issues.
There were a number of training courses advertised to the students early on, however I found that the majority of my development came from on the job training.

I was aware that many previous students had secured jobs either with the group or with related agencies. They also had a follow up graduate scheme that the placement students were invited to apply for.
The Culture
With only a small number of students (9 in my year, though this has since more than doubled) the social scene was quiet. Only a few moved to the local area and so nights out were limited but good when they did happen.
Costs for me were simple as I was able to live at home.
Nights out with colleagues and the other students were always fun, there are a few large clubs and plenty of decent bars so you can have a number of varied nights and wont get bored to quickly.
A number of the other placement students joined local sports teams.
