The Role
Great placement, learnt ALOT! would recomend it to anyone!
Made to feel very welcome. Given support throughout the intership e.g. through mentors and senior members of staff. Felt our work made a valuable contribution.
Given a high level of support through out the internship. Even though we were working with high level managers they still made time to support us individually in our projects.
Given alot to do, but this meant that I learnt the skill of managing multiple tasks and project planning.
Given an unexpected high level of responsibility. Working for senior managers on high level projects.
Gained a lot of skills throughout the intership which will be useful throughout life e.g. working within a corporate setting, writing reports, project management skills etc We recieved lots of information on best practice of interviews and performance feedback from any presentations, interviews and assessment days that we completed. This was really helpful in giving a good idea of my strengths and weaknesses and skills which employers are looking for. It has raised my confidence when applying for future jobs!
The Company
Good. Sat alongside other interns, which was really helpful at the start when finding our feet. Friendly atmosphere with the rest of the team.
I was suprised at the amount of training and development I recieved due to the short time scales of the internship which was only 3 months.
Flexi Time
Working from home
Successfully made it onto Shropshire Council Graduate Programme. Having an insight into the organisation through the internship really helped in the application process and my decision to apply.
The Culture
Yes, made good friends with the other interns. We met for lunch daily and had regular socials outside of work e.g nights out and tapas dinners!
Good. Cost of living is relatively low, this allowed me to save whilst on the Internship.
Good there was regular nights out organised with the other interns. Also at weekends Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham are right on the doorstep!
Yes Shropshire is a beautiful place and has a lot to offer. The county town where our work placement is based is pictureesque and has all that you need!
