The Role
Excellent support, eager to assist, helpful and highly valued constructive feedback at the end.
It usually depended on the day but the days that we weren't busy were usually due to delays in software issues ( PowerFactory)
The fact that the simulations we performed will be used as a basis for further work is very rewarding as well as the fact that we took ownership for those simulations.
Very useful and applicable skills, both technical ( learned to use Power Factory) and non-technical ( interpersonal and co-operation skills )
The Company
Worked alongside 5-6 other Power Academy scholars. Although we might were chatting a bit more that it should it didn't affect our work.
The only problem was the delay in software for the first couple of weeks.
The company seems to appreciate any kind of feedback from the scholars and to take seriously under consideration their opinions. Also, the eagerness and the feeling of coming back means that the company treats the scholars seriously as possible future employees.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Healthcare from home
I would seriously consider National Grid as an employer after graduating.
The Culture
Since I compare everything to London prices then I can't find any economic hold-backs in socializing.
Newnet activities were very exciting as well as rowing, football and other sports with the rest of the scholars.
