    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My supervisor was second to none. I was supported throughout the entire internship. I met regularly with my supervisor to discuss my progress and was provided regular feedback.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • As it was not the busiest time of the year there was not always an abundance of work. However, this gave me opportunities to do Web Based Learning and learn more about the constant development EY provide to all their staff.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The office atmosphere is great. It was nothing like I thought it would be. It is an open plan office, you sit amongst partners and directors which makes you more aware of the everyday runnings of the department at all levels. Obviously, there is serious work to be done, but the office life is never dull.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Once you receive an offer on internship, you will be invited for 3 days induction in a UK location. The induction is well organised, it allows you to get to meet all the other interns starting at the same time as you. There is a fancy dress evening which is really fun, a three course meal, games, information about the following 6 weeks and so much more. All your questions will be answered at the induction. When you arrive at your first day of work you will be introduced to your counsellor who will support you the whole time.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • You don't realise how much EY are investing in you until you get there. The variety of work really allows yu to develop many different areas. If you mention that you would like to improve in a particular area, they will ensure that you are provided an opportunity to do so.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • We arranged to meet once a week and do something after work. It was amazing to hear about the experiences of interns in other departments and find out more about what they were doing on a day-to-day basis.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Leeds is a great city with so many things to do and see. I live in the area so living costs were extremely cheap.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • It is great!

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • All the interns got involved with a CSR day. As I was only there for 6 weeks, I could not get involved in much more. However, I know of so many things I can do when I start my job there. At EY you can get involved in as little or as much as you would like.
