The Role
Really hard work, but it meant I learnt a lot.
There are loads of social events which mean that you form close bonds with your year group. As with any work place there are some people you get on with more than others but on the hole the people employed by PwC are extremely friendly
PwC's graduate scheme is very structured so much of the guidance and support is inbuilt without having to seek further help from management. The assigned managers are able to help but do also have to carry out a large amount of work which means they arent always available.
Varied depending on the time of year. Busy season was extremely busy and long hours but at quieter time of the year there was less work available
I was given the same responsibility as a first year graduate. In the later parts of my placement I was coaching interns and making independent decisions
Although, the placement was not directly linked to my degree I gained a lot of transferable skills which I know will be really useful within my degree and life after graduation
The Company
There are lots of social events and sports activities going on within the office. Work is performed in teams and there is lots of fun to be had one away jobs
PwC are the number one graduate employer and the process is seamless
I had the same training as the graduate employees taking 9 out of 15 of my ACA qualification exams which included paid college time and payment of exams.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Healthcare from home
Looking forward to going back
The Culture
I went on a week long holiday with 20 other graduate joiners to Portugal and went on weekly nights out with the group.
Accomodation in Reading can be slightly expensive but the pay is good and more than enough to get somewhere decent and have money remaining
University town and so had to usual club and pub scene
Lots of sports and social events which rarely require trials... the more the merrier atmosphere
