The Role
Work placement offered a lot of challenges and triumphs but overall was enjoyable
Felt very valued by colleagues, treated just like a full time member of the team
Support from managers varied a lot, some were very helpful and understanding, while others forgot that interns may need more support than full time associates
Days were very busy but mainly due to taking on many independent projects by the end of the placement
Was given more and more responsibility as I showed initiative
Learnt many valuable skills that I wouldn't have learnt from a lecture theatre!
The Company
Hard working but friendly atmosphere in my department
Didnt seem to be much support from the placement co-ordinators towards the end of the placement
Not a lot of training offered as part of the scheme but managers often wanted to invest time in personal development with interns
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Future employment prospects are very good but switching tracks isnt usually advised
The Culture
Interns often shared experiences with each other and met up over lunch
