The Role
I had a really good time - I was working within a helpful and friendly team, and the work was (nicely) challenging.
I was fortunate enough to be in the office when a lot of assistance was required as loads of people were on holiday so I felt very useful!
Needed a lot of support to learn how to do the various tasks and it was always available! I was allocated a People Manager (a senior manager) to help with development and a Buddy (an associate) to ask whatever questions I had.
It was quite mixed; there were times when I had very little to do and noone I asked had any work to give me, and times when I stayed late to finish things.
I completed work for clients and other internal teams, which was really good!
My degree is not really very relevant to the skills I learnt at my placement, but I'm sure it will all help when I get an actual job.
The Company
People chatted and were friendly but the atmosphere was quite serious when work was going on.
Very well organised - they're clearly very used to holding them!
We had a week-long residential training session, regular online training to complete, and sessions with People Managers as well as on-job training from associates and above.
I have a final interview to complete but hoping to get a job with them from that.
The Culture
We frequently ate lunch together and had drinks a few times.
It was in Birmingham, so socialising was pretty reasonable, but I lived at home.
Fine, I didn't go out much in the area though as I was living at home (about an hour away).
My team went out for lunch and drinks a few times, and we had an Away Day.
