The Role
It was very beneficial in the sense that an opportunity was provided to experience audit first-hand. The work itself was fairly varied and also enjoyable.
I felt like a member of the external audit team and everyone made a good effort to introduce themselves and offer useful advice.
I was always given a clear briefing before any task and the management were very approachable- which meant guidance was easy to come by.
I had a number of projects to do throughout the internship which kept me nicely occupied.
Considering I started the internship with no experience in audit, it is not a surprise that I was not given the most important jobs. However, I felt as if the work I did was of value to the team and therefore that I carried a certain responsability.
I definitely learnt a lot about what audit involves, and also experience working life in a very large firm. I'm sure that these experiences and skills will therefore help me in the future.
The Company
There was a positive and professional atmosphere.
The internship was well organised with two weeks of first-hand audit experience and also an information day.
I felt that a good deal of effort was put into helping me, and therefore that the company cared for my development and well-being.
Subsidised Canteen
Financial Bonus
Very appealing- I'd say the internship has certainly made me aspire to work there.
The Culture
As I was the only intern in this particular audit team, not so much happened socially within the two weeks. However, some younger members of the office seemed to enjoy a good social scene.
Naturally London is fairly expensive.
The Nightlife seemed to be very good.
A couple of opportunities were presented but the internship was only two weeks so it was harder to get involved.
