The Role
I enjoyed the job and I learnt loads, both technically and also about interacting and dealing with people. The placement was in central London and the office was in a nice location so I really enjoyed working there.
My colleagues treated me well, I enjoyed learning things from them and they were always available to help me out! We often went on team outings together and that was fun.
My manager was supporting and helped me to settle into my role quickly. He was always available when I needed to speak with him, but he also trusted me to do my own thing without having to micro manage! This was great, as it really allowed me to build confidence in my abilities
I was pretty busy and would usually have lots of work to do, so there was rarely dull moments, but at times there can be too much work, and it can be stressful!
I was given a reasonable amount of responsibility given the timeframe I was there. Given longer I think I could have gotten to do many more interesting things or worked on some projects!
Whilst I did not pick up any professional qualifications just learning on the job was quite rewarding. I feel I have picked up a great skill set, especially when it comes to troubleshooting and dealing with people in a professional manner.
The Company
It can be a bit boring, since everyone has lots of work to do, so there is not much time for idle chit chat, but outside of working hours like during lunch or after work the team can be quite lively!
From the day I arrived I felt they had planned things well, I knew what I needed to do and where I needed to be. My manager has had interns before so he also knew how to handle things.
I did not get any qualifications or any paid for training, but I did gain a lot of skills from doing things hands on. I was also mentored by one of my team members which was useful.

I think it would be great to continue working there in the future if the opportunity arises!
The Culture
I certainly enjoyed meeting and talking to my fellow placement students, we often went for lunch and it was fun to chat about our experiences, as well as other random things!
London is expensive! But if you are lucky maybe your team will go on a social that is paid for.
London always has a good night scene, plenty of clubs, bars and pubs to visit in the night, if you can afford them!
There were some sports clubs to get involved with, however I never had the time or energy for them myself!
