The Role
J.P. Morgan was a very enjoyable company to work for. My colleagues were friendly, approachable and extremely willing to help (I include senior management within this). HR also organised social events for our intern cohort which enhanced the experience and enabled us to bond well.
Feedback was given often therefore I was regularly told that I was really adding value to the team. Even now I have left, many of them have stayed in touch.
When given tasks by my manager, they were always explained well. I was also told about how I was expected to use initiative in some cases which helped me feel at ease making my own decisions. They were always willing to answer my questions.
Banking roles are always going to be busy let's face it, however, work/life balance is extremely important at JP Morgan and managers would often frown upon making us work long hours, it was really up to me about how long I wanted to spend at work/how quickly I completed tasks.
It was more of a 'learning' internship than being given responsibility. The career potential from this internship is immense!
As above, the career potential is incredible. I have learnt what it is like to work for one of the world's leading banks, I have developed networking, interpersonal, technical and corporate perspective skills which I know will benefit me hugely in the future.
The Company
Everyone was very friendly, buzz of working for a leading bank was always apparent. I felt proud going to and leaving work every day.
There is a lot of focus on the internship schemes at J.P. Morgan and this was extremely impressive. Fantastic induction, training and events.
We were given lots of lunch and learn sessions and a great induction program.
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
I now have a graduate job with J.P Morgan.
The Culture
Yes, people gelled well and the events organised by HR really helped promote this.
London is expensive but the lifestyle is definitely worth every penny.
London nightlife is amazing!
Lots of opportunities for networking/sports etc.
