The Role
It was probably the best overall job I could have done, taking into account the salary as well. I enjoyed my job and even enjoyed staying extra hours to get work done because it was what i was very much interested in
My work was important to the company as a whole. I was in adding value to the company and this was shown in colleagues' attitude towards me
At every step. Most people in my department knew about my project and were more than happy to give informal advice. This was alongside having a supervisor and mentor I met regularly for support and guidance.
There was times when I was not very busy and times when I was too busy but over all I think the balance was just right.
I was given as much responsibility as I could handle given my lack of experience. I felt like i had a say in all major decisions concerning my project.
Very much. I have gained alot from the constant feedback process and the competencies I was rated against. I will be a much improved student back at university and even more so an engineer when I graduate
The Company
We knew we were there to work but there was always time to relax and have a chat. Loads of jokes and laughing, good atmoshere.
Very well done. It was well set out so I knew the important dataes and targets to meet in good time.
In terms of time spent with my supervisor and mentor who are quite important to the company as well as a few training courses I went on. fairly good!
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
I passed the internship and will most likely be offered a contract soon
The Culture
There is a group of new starters including graduates and pre-university students which has a lot of social events throughout the year
It was not too expensive or too cheap. Rent was on average about £270 a month and socialising was quite cheap
Chester is a very small town but you can still a make a good night of it
Yes there was always football and rugby and opportunities to get represent the company at schools etc
