    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Hard work but very stimulating and rewarding

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Made to feel very welcome, and although my knowledge isn't huge, everyone took the time to explain things to me and valued my opinion.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • We were given support but also allowed to discover the firm for ourselves. Really good amount of freedom throughout the week.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • We were very very busy, but it was only one week so I think we needed to be to get everything done!

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • It was only one week, so it was impossible to give us any real responsibility in that time.

    1/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • There was a strong emphasis on how one works in a team and what type of work suits you best. Many of the things we learnt in the week will be useful in both my degree and life outside academia as well.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • All of the people were friendly and had a lot to ask everyone on the Spring Week, if there was a moment when the markets were not moving fast it was great to have the opportunity to talk to people who may otherwise have been very busy.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Well organised, would have been great to know our desk rotations a little earlier in the week though.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There was only one week, but for this amount of time there seemed to be a lot of effort put into training us and making sure the lectures were interesting.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • National Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • They appeal a lot!

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes, great, I am still in contact with quite a few of them

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It seemed to be expensive, but I expected nothing less from living in London! The company subsidised the week for us, which made it a lot easier to cope on a student budget!

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • London has a pretty good nightlife!

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • We were told a lot about all of the charity work you can get involved with and there also seemed to be popular sports teams. There was a lot going on in the company.

    4/5
