    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my year working at Disney, it is a fun place to work and was quite easy to settle into the role.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone on the team is approachable and you are given your own set of responsibilities so you have your own role within the team.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Each placement student has their own line manager and a weekly one to one meetings were set up where any problems could be raised and could ask for advice.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Most days were fairly busy, there were times throughout the year where there was less of a work load but there was always something that needed doing.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • As Creative Operations intern you are given your own daily responsibilities as well as other projects from other members of the wider team. These could be creative or research projects.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The year provided a good experience of working in a busy work place and gave me a good understanding of how a global company works to produce fashion & home products.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Everyone within the team was friendly, and atmosphere is laid back except for busy times and around important events.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Disney are use to hiring a lot of interns so the hiring process was quite smooth. The placement did not provide lots of opportunities to learn extra skills other than the basic job role.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There wasn't much training at all apart from on the systems you use daily. It is quite an admin based role.

    1/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    Healthcare/Dental

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • A lot of jobs are advertised internally and job openings do not appear too often.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There are plenty of other placement students to meet up with and get to know. Can organise events, meals or drinks together.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London is quite expensive, however the area you live in will determine living costs and as it is a paid placement it really helps.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Hammersmith itself has a few nice pubs to have a meal or drinks in but not a lot else.

    2/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There are volunteering opportunities which the company manages as well as a few sports teams which employees within the head office organise and between interns themselves.

    3/5
