The Role
Work was great and the staff even better
They really make an effort to make sure you understand the issue so that you can try and do something that will help them!
Each seat you get a supervisor who is always there for you and the partners show and an active interest.
I was busy everytime I was at my desk; really getting a taste for what working at the firm would be like.
I was able to not only do work I felt competent with, but got more responsibility as soon as I had proved myself.
The research and networking skills will help tremendously as I pursue my career at an international law firm.
The Company
The people in each department were always friendly and wanting to get to know the vacation schemers.
It was very tightly organised, though not having the training contract interview during the scheme felt like a bit of a trip in order to go back to London.
They really see you as an investment for the future, and the time - professional and social - they put in cannot be underestimated!
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Especially for being kept on upon qualification, the numbers are good, but not ahead particularly of the rest of the magic circle.
The Culture
The other people on the scheme were great, though perhaps more could have been done by the associates at the firm.
Completely normal for london.
Again completely normal for the City.
Especially during the weekends, the chance to socialise with the other vac schemers was great.
