The Role
The work placement was really good, as it provided a real opportunity to be responsible for my own departments.
The supply team were a really welcoming team, and were really supportive throughout the placement year. The George House is a friendly environment to work in.
Management were always on hand if i had any queries.
As the months on and my knowledge of the role grew, I was given a lot more responsibility, which was great as I was constantly busy but also meant I learnt a lot more.
Having departments to look after and being responsible for my actions meant that I had a lot more responsibility than I was expecting to receive as a student placement.
The placement role unfortunately doesn't relate the topics that I am studying on my course, but has given me a good insight into how a head office functions and the roles within the business.
The Company
everyone was really friendly.
There was a scheduled 12-week plan, which was very helpful when you're a new starter.
I was given plenty of opportunities to attend both on the job and off the job training, which i really valued.
Flexi Time
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
They said to let me know once I am back on the market place after graduation.
The Culture
More of the students commuted from home but the colleagues who I liased with frequently were good at organising the odd night out.
Unfortunately due to my living arrangement i didn't go out, which meant that it was relatively cheap as i only had rent, food, petrol etc to pay for.
From a student perspective I didn't rate the nightlife that well, but then I didn't have many opportunities to go out with other students.
I joined a zumba class, but where i was located was a good bus journey from the city centre and was only part of a small village.
