The Role
Generally assigned to clients where extra help was requested. Working with people who actually needed an extra pair of hands.
Everyone at the office or at the clients was available to answer any questions. As long as you dont ask stupid questions they were very patient.
Few off days but always had something to do when on client.
Given real work with real clients. Trusted to speak with CFOs and Account Managers directly. Daunting but great experience.
Hoping to continue working in the accounting world so should prove to be very useful.
The Company
Very professional atmosphere. But never stuffy or intimidating.
Could see that the placement was meticulously planned out. Only issues I had were beyond the firms control.
Full week of training before the proper work started. Constant support from seniors and online excercises to do in your own time.
National Travel
Working from home
Apparently an ~=85% job offer rate amongst interns.
The Culture
PwC didnt offer a great deal in terms of incentive for interns to socialise but do plan work nights out for the different departments every few months. Organised most of the socialising between interns ourselves.
Bristol's quite a reasonable place.
Lots of great pubs for a quiet night out. Few good clubs for the big nights out.
Lots of sports teams within the PwC office to get involved in as long as you take the initiative and find them. Not a great number of social groups.
