The Role
Very good internship, I have learnt a lot, met interesting people; sociable hours too.
Everyone on the team was very friendly/helpful & appreciative of the work I was doing.
The right balance of support and freedom to work on your own
Perfect balance - I was given enough work to keep me busy; whenever I finished a task I just let my managers know, and they gave me a new one.
From the very first day I was given my own projects to work on, and was expected to show initiative and responsibility.
Being given a lot of responsibility early on helps develop confidence; also, good experience working in a professional/office environment - definitely useful for the future
The Company
Everyone on the team seemed committed to their work, but they were always willing to take a short break, grab a coffee and have a chat
Very well organised - two day induction to make sure we all knew what to expect from the internship and what to do in the following days
Loads of events, talks by senior managers to make sure we learn as much as possible about the company and various career paths available within it
Company Parties/Events
Got an offer for a full-time position starting next year
The Culture
Very large intake of interns and we were constantly encouraged to socialise and network with one another
Working in London is never cheap, but the generous salary covered the costs of living, socialising etc.
London has everything you might want in terms of night-life - the office was in a very central location which also helped
There was a number of after-work team-building events, and a charity event on one of the weekends
