The Role
I really enjoyed the internship. I was able to spend time at clients and gain some real hands on experience.
I felt part of the team and I gained a good relationship with many of my colleagues. There was a very friendly atmosphere in the office throughout the internship.
There was constant support from colleagues throughout the internship. We were all told from the beginning to keep asking questions until we understood exactly how the task was supposed to be completed. Through this training I was able to gain an in-depth understanding of many areas.
There were some days, particularly when I was at clients when I was busy throughout. However there were days when I was waiting to be given some work and I did find this a little frustrating.
I was given quite a large degree of responsibility and often left to complete work on my own. There was a strong support structure so I didn't feel too pressurised and always knew I could ask someone if I didn't understand.
I received very good training from my colleagues and I was surprised by how much I had gained from the internship. I found working at clients very helpful for training and my long term job prospects.
The Company
There was a great atmosphere in the office. I think people work very hard but also try to have a luagh at the same time. There was always the standard football banter throughout the day which was great.
The internship was very well organised. The first two days were spent at a hotel where I learnt about the services that KPMG provide and what to expect throughout the internship.
The managers and colleagues always spent time ensuring I understand exactly what was being asked. I spent the first few days of the internship in a hotel where I learnt about KPMG as a company and developed some key skills.

I was fortunate to get offered a job and I am very excited at the opportunity to be able to work for KPMG. I really enjoyed my internship and I would recommend to apply for it next year.
The Culture
There were quite a few social events with colleagues which were good fun. There were no events for fellow interns alone, but we all organised them ourselves.
It was quite cheap accommodation and I was paid fairly well. The bars and other events were quite cheap.
The nightlife was very decent. There were plenty of bars, clubs and other activities to do.
There were many social events to attend throughout the internship. There were also opportunities to volunteer instead of working which I was particularly impressed by.
