The Role
Whilst the other interns and graduates were very friendly and helpful, more experienced established employees were less approachable and the work load was extremely intense as well as the pressure from day 1.
Whilst the team manager emphasised the importance of the porjects given to interns, I did not feel that it was a project really adding value to the team but rather a test of my ability.
Supervisors were very helpful and eager to provide anwers and assistance where necessary with project work.
I was given a very intense workload working 12 hour + days, as well as taking work home for the weekend.
I was given a lot of responsibilties ranging from taking minutes at meetings, contributing to morning meetings, completing projects as well as one-off tasks.
The nature of the internship and the nature of my course at university are somewhat unrelated.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office depends very much on how your team interacts. I think that the Olympics helped to liven the atmosphere also.
The internship had a very structured layout with many socialising events amongst the interns and employees.
Supervisors for my projects invested time to help me with any questions and modelling.

The workload can be very intense but the financial reward is also very competitive.
The Culture
Amongst the students, the social scene was very good whilst with colleagues, i found that I felt more comfortable around newer recruits and graduates in comparison to more established employees who were often extremely intense.
In London, the cost of living and socialising is very expensive. Food around the firm was also very expensive.
Nightlife in London is extremely good with lots of different activities available.
There were many events organised by the recruitment team including bowling. Interns also socialised after work in nearby pubs on a weekly basis.
